about the workshops Brainboosters offer fun, relaxing workshops teaching children key personal development skills. These can help them to handle the stress of tests, exams or life in general. The one hour sessions take place over four weeks and provide children with quick, easy to use techniques which help them harness their brain's potential whilst maintaining a positive perspective.
Feelings of nervousness, irritability and general anxiety are all signs of stress. Stress impedes brain functioning by reducing thinking ability - which means lower grades. Brainboosters techniques have been shown to enhance brain functioning, build emotional intelligence and increase general health and well being.
If you have ever sat down in an exam and felt your mind go blank, you will appreciate how hard it is to remember things when your brain is in panic mode! After attending the four one hour Brainboosters sessions, your child will be equipped with a variety of simple physical and psychological exercises to use before and during an exam enabling them to produce their best results.
To give your child the exam advantage, request that we visit your child's school by calling 0700 580 1124.

"The pupils really enjoyed the day and found it really useful to take
part in calming and fun activities. I thought the workshop was excellent, as it was fun, but not just fun for
the sake of it - they were actually doing useful activities that I hope they will be able to use in the future." - Kathryn Weeks, Gifted and Talented Co-ordinator, Higher Side School

about the techniques
Brain Gym® "Brain Gym includes 26 easy and enjoyable targeted activities that integrate body and mind to bring about rapid and often dramatic improvements in concentration, memory, reading, writing, organizing, listening, physical coordination, and more" - visit the Brain Gym® website to download research findings.
Yoga For Children Yoga is increasingly being used as part of the school curriculum due to its benefits to both the physical, emotional and spiritual education of children. Yoga is a non-religious, non-competitive form of mind and body exercise which also incorporates social and moral values. For further details visit Karmatime.
Massage in Schools "The Massage in Schools Programme is being used very successfully in schools as part of Personal, health, social and citizenship education (PHSCE) and contributes to the Healthy Schools Award (Emotional health and well-being). It also contributes to Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning and the objectives of Every Child Matters. This programme develops nurturing touch in a school setting. It is based on respect and involves a formal (clothed) massage routine and related activities." Children who have taken part in the Massage in Schools programme have become calmer, have improved concentration, more confidence and increased self-esteem, have learnt respect for themselves and others resulting in a reduction in bullying, have learnt to recognise 'good' and 'bad' touch and have improved their motor skills and emotional health. about the teacher
Justine was taught to meditate at the age of 12 by a progressive teacher who used alternate nostril breathing to focus pupils' attention. This sparked her interest in human potential which has since flourished into a range of relaxation and accelerated learning courses for children and adults.
Along the way she studied Fashion Design in London, taught and travelled extensively throughout America and graduated from University with a degree in Art and Design. After graduation she was particularly interested in the importance Art plays in the development of emotional intelligence and memory retrieval within the education system, so continued her studies by training as a secondary school teacher, qualifying in 1998.
Whilst taking time out to have children, she continued her professional development by studying various personal development techniques including Brain Gym®,
Yoga,
Massage in Schools,
Life Coaching, Emotional Freedom Techniques, Non-Violent Communication, Reiki and Meditation.
She now combines her knowledge of these into weekly Karmatime classes for children aged 3 upwards.
